It’s the last week of term 3! Our story for the final week of ‘Tell me a Story’ is ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and will include some exciting activities. The children will be following a simple map to find pictures of sweets. The pictures will be hidden in, on, under, beside, next to and above places around the school. (They will exchange the pictures for a treat in school!) Maybe you could practise at home too. By the end of the week Puffin and Parrot classes will be experts at using positional language. Children will use flat 2D shapes to create gingerbread houses and also sequence the story to make their own zig-zag books.
We will be having our last swimming session on Wednesday when all the children will be assessed. They will be receiving a certificate next term to show the skills they have learnt.
Please remember to practise letter sounds in the little Blue Books during half-term and to share some books together.
Have an enjoyable break and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday 25th February.

‘Tell me a Story’ continues this week with the story of ‘Rapunzel’. Puffins and Parrots will be using their imaginations to think of a way to rescue her from the tower using different construction sets. We will create pictures of her using collage and make a tall tower with empty boxes and containers.
Our outside learning area has been very wet this term but we still need the children to explore and enjoy the activities and resources. Please could children bring in a pair of named wellies to wear outside. This will stop their school shoes getting muddy and also the floor and carpets in class. Thank you.

The children will be ordering numbers to 10 up the beanstalk and some might even reach 20. We will compare the height of different beanstalks too.
Swimming is on Wednesday and the children are very keen after their first session last week. Every one enjoyed it and most children did very well drying and dressing themselves. However, many clothes were not named and staff found it difficult to make sure children had put on the right uniform. Please label clothes, costumes and bags for this week. Thank you to the parents and carers who do help us by naming everything.
