Year 6 Go Swimming!
Our year 6 pupils kick off our yearly swimming lessons this term. Our year 6 classes will be going swimming on a Wednesday afternoon. We hope they all have a fantastic time and their swimming skills grow!
Rose Street Defeated in Football Varsity Fixture!
On Monday 11th November West Minster and Rose Street battled it out in our first varsity event of the year. The varsity football fixture was called off in term 1 due to the weather and so was played at the start of term 2. Rose Street hosted the event on a very cold Monday morning. Both schools played some brilliant football and everyone played with a smile on their face. In the end though West Minster ran out comfortable winners with a fantastic team display which saw every member of the team score! This means that they have taken the varsity shield back with them to keep for the term and now lead the overall varsity 1-0, but with 5 events still to come its all still to play for! Well done to all the children who took part.
Year 2 Show Off Their Skills at Infant Agility Competition!
On Wednesday 20th November, 10 children from year 2 took part in the Sittingbourne and Sheppey Infant Agility Competition. They took part in six events; bouncer, jumper, bowler, thrower, runner and tower build. Each event gave each child a score based on how well they did and these results are then added together to give an overall team score. All our children performed brilliantly and we ended up finishing 5th out of 11 schools, with only a few points separating 5th and first! On top of this our children represented our school brilliantly and we couldn’t be prouder of them all, well done to everyone who took part!
Rose Street Shoot Some Hoops!
On Wednesday 27th November, 8 children from year 5 & 6 took part in the Sittingbourne and Sheppey Basketball Competition. The event was split into two groups with all of the teams playing each other. The top two teams from each group then progressed to the semi finals. Unfortunately we didn’t make it out of the groups but we did manage to win 1 of our 3 games and where narrowly defeated in the other two. One of our defeats coming from eventual finalises St George’s. We would like to say a huge thank you to Oasis for hosting the event and a massive well done to all the children who took part!

SWF Football Team Kick Off League Campaign in Style!
On Thursday 21st November 10 players from the SWF Football squad travelled to Lansdowne Primary School in Sittingbourne to take part in our first football fixture of the SSSSP Football League competition. The team put on a fantastic football display which saw us take a very early lead. SWF stuck to their pass and move style of football and came in at half time 1-6 up! Lansdowne battled away in the second half and made it a much closely fought half however SWF managed to add to the score with two very well taken goals to win the match 1-8, and get our run in the competition off to the perfect start! Firstly we would like to say a huge well done to all the team members who took part in the game not only for the win but also for being brilliant ambassadors for our school while visiting Lansdowne. Secondly we would like to say a huge thank you to all the children and staff at Lansdowne who gave us a fantastic welcome and looked after us during our time at their school and where the perfect hosts. We would like to wish them the best of luck in their future games.
