In literacy we will be reading four different books:  Aliens Love Underpants, The Gruffalo, Whatever Next and Elmer.  The children will do different activities about these books including role play using puppets, sequencing the story together, writing about their favourite character and completing speech bubbles.  At the end of the week, children will choose their favourite story!  Why don’t you try and find these books in the library?

In numeracy, we will learning about subtraction.  We will be using manipulatives to take away and we will also learn to subtract by counting back.  At the end of the week, we will be making a pictogram about our favourite story.

In science, we will be going on a walk around the school to look for signs of autumn and seasonal change.  If you find anything, such as conkers or colourful leaves, please feel free to bring them into school!
