Dinosaur Day
Thu 03 Jul 2025🦖 A Roaring Success – Dinosaur Day! 🦕
What an unforgettable day! The school was taken over by dinosaurs—and the children couldn’t have been more excited! We were thrilled to welcome an incredible team who brought three exciting and educational dinosaur-themed workshops to life:
🧪 Workshop 1 – Meet Jam Assembly
The day began with a science-focused session where we met Jam, a 4-metre-long dinosaur! The children explored the importance of asking ‘why’ and learned how scientific thinking helps us understand the world. The interactive format had everyone fully engaged—and Jam certainly made a big impression!
🎬 Workshop 2 – Green Screen Adventure
Next, the children became storytellers and filmmakers, using a green screen to imagine themselves in a prehistoric jungle. With a strong focus on vocabulary and discussion, they worked in groups to create still shots and short films, bringing their dino adventures to life. This workshop was expertly adapted for all year groups from EYFS to Year 6.
🦕 Workshop 3 – Meet the Baby Dinosaurs
Our youngest learners had a magical time meeting a range of baby dinosaurs, each with their own personality. These sessions were specially designed by EYFS specialists, helping children explore emotions and develop their social and emotional skills—all while cuddling up to their new dinosaur friends!
It was a fantastic day filled with awe, wonder, and learning. A huge thank you to our visitors for making Dinosaur Day such a roaring success!
